Our Story

Flora Groves is a family-built farm shaped by decades of history, quiet moments, and a shared love for the land. What began as open acreage passed down through generations has grown into a place for gathering, celebration, and connection.

This is the story of how it all came to be.

Welcome to

Our farm has been part of our family since 1948, when my great-grandfather stumbled upon an ad in the newspaper for '30 acres of land' in Thonotosassa, FL. He drove out to see it, fell in love, and bought it on the spot. Over the years, as the land grew, he’d plant orange groves for neighboring farmers in exchange for more property. At one point, our family cared for 100 acres in Thonotosassa. Today, 40 of those acres remain in our hands (and we plan to preserve this place as long as we can!)

The orange groves eventually went quiet, but the land always remained special to us. Growing up, my dad and I would visit "the property" just to walk around and talk. We tossed around a million ideas for what it could be; strawberries, cattle, the list went on! But most of the time, we just enjoyed the open space.

Years later, when I got engaged, my Dad suggested we put some of those old ideas into motion. With the help of my husband, family, and friends, we spent the year leading up to our wedding building our own venue from the ground up.

The People Behind the Farm

Meet the Family

Flora Groves exists because of family — the ones who dreamed it up, built it by hand, and continue to care for the land every day.

From planning to planting to welcoming guests, this farm is a shared labor of love.
